Tuesday 27th May 2008 saw the Club host the HSBC Wee Wonders Championships Regional Qualifier, which is a junior golf tournament that gives boys and girls aged five to twelve a way to progress from coaching competitions into competitive golf.

Some 40 children below the age of twelve took part, in various age groups to play the course which was specially designed to accommodate their play in ‘flag format’. Each child got the chance to see how they scored against others of their age. They had 36 shots to get as far around the course as possible. Where the ball stopped, they planted their flag. If they got further than others their age, they had won!  Great thanks are due to Club members who made this possible not least the Junior Section who gave up a days golf to be of service.
